The AI Revolution and the Software Industry
How artificial intelligence is reshaping the landscape of development, tooling, and what it means for the future of software engineers.
Operations Manager at Dinnova AG Ltd. With roots in design and full-stack development, I specialize in building, scaling, and managing end-to-end digital products. Here's a look at what I've been up to.
Get in touchFrom childhood, I was a very shy person. I would hesitate to ask anyone for anything - even my own parents. Perhaps that is why, from an early age, I developed a strong desire to become financially independent and create something of my own.
After completing my Secondary School Certificate (SSC) in 2017, I decided that I needed to learn a skill that could help me earn independently. I was offered an opportunity to take a Graphic Design course in Uttara, Dhaka and I didn't want to let it go.
At that time, I was living in Old Dhaka. Three days a week, I would travel all the way to Uttara by local bus. I still remember paying only BDT 20 on the Ajmeri bus. The journey took nearly six hours in total - three hours going and three hours coming back. I learned the basics of Adobe Illustrator there, although, for some reason, I couldn't continue the course.
In 2018, I tried something different. Together with a few school friends, I started a small T-shirt business. Unfortunately, the business didn't succeed. But the experience taught me something important: failure doesn't mean the journey is over.
I enrolled in another Graphic Design and Freelancing course, this time in Old Dhaka. I took the learning seriously, developed my skills and eventually decided to step into the global freelancing marketplace.
My first breakthrough came through a logo design contest on Freelancer.com. I submitted a logo and to my surprise, the client selected my design. My first-ever freelance payment was 50 CAD.
It may not sound like much today, but to me, it was huge. It was the first time I earned money from something I had taught myself. More importantly, it gave me the confidence to believe that I could actually build a career from my skills.
From there, the journey continued. I went on to work with 450+ clients from different parts of the world, eventually building long-term relationships with several of them.
In 2020, I started my professional career as a Graphic Designer at Dinnova AG, Switzerland. In 2023, I was promoted to Product Manager. It was during this time that I taught myself web development and started taking on paid projects. I later took on the role of Operations Manager for Dinnova AG's Bangladesh Operations.
I love turning ideas into working products. I started out as a graphics designer and over the years I realized I wanted to own the whole stack - not just hand off a mockup. So I taught myself to code and today I build full web apps end-to-end.
I focus on building interfaces that are fast, accessible and genuinely useful - not just pretty. Whether it's a marketing site, a product dashboard or a custom backend, I care about what actually ships and how it performs in the real world.
My design background is my unfair advantage. I obsess over how things look and how they work - pixel rhythm, micro-interactions, performance, DX. Clients tell me the biggest difference is that I ship things that actually launch and feel great once they do.
Looking back, the journey was anything but easy. There were countless sleepless nights, failures, uncertainties and moments when giving up seemed like the easiest option. But every challenge taught me something and every small success gave me a reason to keep moving forward.
I will always be grateful to the people who supported, encouraged and believed in me throughout this journey.
This is not a story about overnight success. It is a story about starting with very little, learning along the way, failing, trying again and never stopping.
